Here are 10 tips on creating your own marketing selfie.

1. Use a Timer

With a timer, you can take the selfie without having to hold it in your hand, causing camera shake.

2. Stable Surface

Using a tripod or stable surface to hold your camera, instead of your hand, will allow you to get more of yourself in the shot, super crisp!

3. Clean the Area

Remove anything from the area that distracts from the main focus of the shot - you.
Wires, books, food, ect.

4. Straight Lines

Line up your background with the gridlines and make any necessary adjustments.

5. Thumbs up

Universal symbol for telling people that you approve of something.
Examples: Books, products etc.

Helps multiply your social media efforts.

6. Brand Name

What would be worse than trying to show the world using your smartphone camera that you are proud of something, only you didn't take ample time to properly compose your shot? Take multiple shots to make sure it's visible.

7. Square Crop

If you share on Instagram, your photos will be cut in a square crop view. Leave enough space around the edge, and don't cut a part of the brand name... maybe even your thumbs up!

8. Lighting

Make sure your face is well lit. If you don't like what you see, move to another area or try a different angle.

Studio lighting can provide additional lighting and sheer curtains soften light.

9. Grooming

If you hold onto a product you are quite proud of, most likely your hands will be visible.

For females, you can even choose a nail polish color that complements the product.

10. Facial Expressions

Show you mean it, and even an open mouth if you want to show that you are super excited about something, not just the average "say cheese" smile.

Shout it to the world, and people will remember you.
